The Solar Decathlon was a multi-semester student design / build project that culminated with a week-long competition on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The 800 square foot fully-functioning modular homes were judged in 10 categories including design, engineering, comfort, and energy use. Penn State’s MorningStar home placed 4th overall in a field of 20 universities from around the world.
